From the inception of the continent ostomy center, it was recognized that specially trained operating room and floor nurses were essential to a smoothly functioning program and excellent quality of care. Nurses caring for patients after surgery are specifically trained in both the medical issues as well as the psychological issues involved with BCIR patients, often requiring a substantial hospital stay.

Program Coordinator, Tillie Huber, R.N.

Tillie Huber, coordinates the Ostomy program from first inquiry to after care. She is the patient and family representative before, during and after hospitalization.

Tillie is very active with the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America. She is Chair for Programs and Services for the greater Los Angeles area. Tillie also facilitates the monthly support group at Century City Hospital.
